teen idol

Back in the late fifties, Johnny Tillotson had all the makings of the perfect teenage idol, with the clean-cut, boyish good looks girls could swoon over. What stood him apart from the rest of cookie-cutter pop idols of the period, however, was the fact that Johnny Tillotson could pen his own tunes. Granted, the ones he's most known for today ('Poetry In Motion', 'You Can Never Stop Me Loving You') were written by the more established songwritters, but really, some the b-sides and album tracks he wrote are just as fab.
