vintage singaporean pop

She won Singapore's Helen Shapiro sound-alike competition in the Sixties, but here she sounds uncannily like Brenda Lee! I don't have any pictures of her, but I imagine her to be pouty and sultry in her go-go miniskirts. She's now married to one of The Firebirds.

Catherine and The Firebirds - He's Sure To Remember Me

It sounds a little bit disjointed, because it's taped off radio, so I had to fade the DJ's voice out.

wow! that's very cool! i first heard of her last year on Gold 90.5, when she was being interviewed by Brian Richmond. that's how i managed to get a recording of this song. pls give her my regards, i think she has a very nice voice! how many albums did she release? do you happen to have a photo of her and her band in the 60's?

Glad to know there are people who still enjoy her music. Yup! I just spoke with mum and she was tickled pink that she's on a blog site. Anyway, I shall get a photo of her and her band (and yes, the guitarist is me daddy!).
