Do The Freddie!

One of the many Beat groups to emerge in the wave of the British Invasion was Freddie and The Dreamers. Best known for hit singles like "I'm Telling You Now", Freddie Garrity's stage antics also won him US appeal. Appearing on major US televisions shows like, "Shindig", "Hullabaloo" and "The Ed Sullivan Show", American audiences were amused by Garrity's zany dance, swinging his arms and legs out to his sides.

This is the B side to their 1965 single, "A Little You". Throwaway pop for sure, but still a melody that'll bring a smile to your face!

Oh yes, I remember them. I was quite young then, maybe sec. school. Other Brit groups of that era were Gary and the Peacemakers (spelling), Herman's Hermits and Animals.

Shindig used air over RTS (Radio & Television Spore) in the evening around 7 pm. B&W of course.

I just recalled one more name - Manfred Mann.
