dara puspita!
Dara Puspita were an amazing all-girl band from Indonesia. Comprising Susi Nander, Titiek Hamzah, and sisters Titiek A.R., and Lies A.R., they formed in 1964, after being inspired by The Beatles' sound. With all of them still in their late teens, they initially faced parental objections, but soon won them over. Apparently, when on stage, these girls had the habit of jumping up and down while shouting, such that their lyrics were often inaudible. Their fans didn't mind - they only danced along.
This song is about a very happening house party, where all the guests are happy.

Lots of Dara Puspita sleeve art here.

Their look alone is enough to win my love! Those first 2 album covers on the linked site are bad ass...
I know! I like their hair, and somehow, that picture reminds me a lot of Les Beatlettes.
Nice one!
Love it! Amazing is right. Have you heard Las Mosquitas? They were to Argentina that Dara Puspita were to Indonesia -- a mid 60s all-girl band inspired by the Fab Four.
hi ion, no i haven't heard of Las Mosquitas (the mosquitoes?!). they sound really interesting though. do you have any tracks by them?
Yummy!

You can definitely tell this girls have a little inspiration coming from The Beatles, look at the hair, and the Logo in the Bass Drum, looks pretty 60-s to me and pretty cool as well.
