The Essex were formed by members of the US Marine Corps, and later featured Anita Humes on lead vocals. Although the group initially scored three hit singles in the early 60's, their later recordings with Anita were not as commercially successful. The band disbanded in 1966. This song is so simple and minimal that Anita's vocals really shine.
